The Vice -Prime Minister (V-PM), Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE), and Minister of Tourism and Environment (MTA), Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, led the opening ceremony of the Workshop on the Implementation and Utilization of the ANUNNAI Digital Platform, in preparation for Timor-Leste’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2029.
This workshop aimed to present and explain the implementation and utilization of the ANUNNAI Digital Platform as part of the Ninth Constitutional Government's efforts to promote digital transformation and improve the public administration system. The workshop was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC) in Praia dos Coqueiros, Dili.
During the opening, the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, expressed his great pleasure in participating in this important workshop regarding ANUNNAI.
"I am very pleased to be here with all of you today for this important workshop on ANUNNAI, our digital platform proposed to support the preparation and delivery of Timor-Leste's ASEAN Chairmanship in 2029," the V-PM said.
He also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, particularly the Directorate-General for ASEAN Affairs, for organizing this important workshop and moving forward with the implementation of the ANUNNAI digital system.
Timor-Leste's ASEAN Chairmanship will be a significant milestone in its history. This will showcase not only Timor-Leste's capability to host regional meetings but also its capacity to lead, coordinate, and contribute to the shared goals of ASEAN.
“As we prepare for this responsibility, effective coordination, good communication, and cooperation across all government institutions will be essential. ANUNNAI will help us centralize information, track progress, identify challenges, and ensure that our preparations remain on the right track,” he stated.
This platform will not replace the responsibilities or decision-making authority of any ministry or institution. Instead, it will strengthen Timor-Leste's ability to work together, share information securely, and ensure that everyone understands their roles, responsibilities, and deadlines for each assignment.
“I encourage all participating institutions to take ownership of this process. The success of ANUNNAI will depend not only on the platform itself but also on our leadership, discipline, cooperation, and commitment to delivering results,” he said.
Preparing Timor-Leste is not just about chairing ASEAN in 2029, but about leading with confidence, serving with responsibility, and contributing significantly to ASEAN’s future. This requires all institutions to work together as one single government, with a shared vision and common goals.
