TIMOR-LESTE AND BRUNEI DARUSSALAM HOLD OFFICIAL MEETING TO STRENGTHEN DIPLOMATIC TIES

Within the framework of the official visit to Brunei Darussalam, H.E Prime-Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmäo, accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Fransisco Kalbuady Lay, convened a bilateral meeting and restrict audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah at Nurul Iman Palace.
The meeting held in a fraternal and intimate atmosphere, which reaffirmed the proximity between the two States. As sign of the deep hospitality and friendship and also of the family audience. His Majesty received the Timorese delegation with the great Cordiality, also marked by the presence of members of the royal family. The official lunch was held in a spirit of fellowship, provided an opportunity for an informal and friendly exchange views. On this Occasion the head of the Government, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for Brunei’s support particularly regarding regional development and Timor-Leste’s Accession process to ASEAN.
‘’The bilateral relationship is not merely Political Cooperation but it based on friendship and mutual respect that is solid. His Majesty’s visit to Timor-Leste in 2024 was a historic milestone that reflects goodwill, and affective bond between our peoples’’, said the Prime-Minister, Xanana Gusmão.
In Conclusion, the meeting not only strengthened strategic cooperation, but also focused more on the spirit of solidarity that serves as the foundation for the development, stability and Prosperity in the Southeast Asian Region.
