The General Coordinator Office of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE), Jorge Rui de Carvalho Martins, held a formal meeting with a delegation from the South Australian Skills Commission (SASC) to discuss a strategic partnership for human resource development. The discussions focused on providing advice to the Ministry of Education regarding training, capacity building, and skills development in South Australia. The meeting took place in the MCAE Cabinet Meeting Room.
Speaking on the occasion, General Coordinator, Jorge Martins stated: “As Coordinator for Economic Affairs, we support economic activity through ministerial policies, including registration and regulatory matters. Our vision is clear: to establish the foundations of a resilient, diversified, and sustainable national economy, which includes the oil and gas sector.”
The partnership aims to facilitate the recruitment of apprentices and trainees while ensuring they successfully complete their qualifications. This initiative builds upon the framework of the South Australian Skills Commission, established in 2008, which plays a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting the State’s apprenticeship and training systems.
The Commission collaborates closely with industry, employers, and training partners to ensure that workforce development systems efficiently meet current and future demands. In addition, it promotes industry engagement, professional skills recognition, and international cooperation in workforce development.
During their visit, the SASC delegation will also tour key training institutions, including INDMO, IP, CNEFP Becora, CNEFP Tibar Training Centre, and Don Bosco – Comoros, and meet with the Directorate-General for Bilateral Affairs for Asia and Oceania.
