MCAE Participates in Opening of Vocational Training at CNFP Becora

Dili, 06 February 2026 –

The Office of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE), represented by the Head of the Administration and Finance Unit (UAF), Natalia Nascimento da Cruz Fatima, participated in the opening ceremony of the 2026 vocational training programs at CNFP Becora. The programs include Civil Construction (Certificate Levels I–III), Restaurant Services, and Housekeeping.
In her remarks, the Head of the Administration and Finance Unit emphasized that economic growth begins with skilled human resources, noting that vocational training is not only about certificates but about preparing young people to contribute meaningfully to Timor-Leste’s economy.
The Executive Director of CNFP Becora, Bernadete Pinto Miranda Gomes, reported that in 2026 the center registered 752 applicants, with 443 trainees selected to participate in the programs, including youth, members of the F-FDTL, religious representatives, and public officials. She encouraged trainees to remain disciplined, committed, and focused throughout the training period.
Director General of SEFOPE, Carlito Rosário Cabral, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with training centers, highlighting CNFP Becora’s role in supporting youth employability and aligning vocational training with national and international labor market needs.
The ceremony marked a continued commitment by the government and its partners to strengthening workforce skills and supporting inclusive economic development in Timor-Leste.
